Title

Pointed Sphere

Subject

Spheres (geometric figures)

Description

Fossiliferous limestone and green glass. The sphere is composed of three intersecting limestone rings that appear to be segmented at the intersecting points. Inside the sphere are green glass pieces with curved, pointed ends and circular and zig-zag designs.

The fossilized local limestone and colored glass of this sphere represent the artist's deep attachment to the water and landscape of the Texas Gulf Coast region of his youth. They were the artist's signature materials.
